Discovery

Landlines Estates vineyard source where viticulturist is tending to vines
Proper Motion Icon

Upon discovery of Tidalstar Vineyard in 2016, we knew the site would produce iconic Oregon Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. With its nutrient-rich maritime soils, ideal elevation and east facing slope that provides cool winds at night and a morning sun for slow, deliberate grape growth, it deserved purposeful farming and winemaking that would showcase its gifts.

Approach

The approach to this wine is rooted in a belief that everything is connected, and with close attention to these connections, both seen and unseen, we can create wines with a more vibrant and nuanced expressions of the vineyard.

Vineyard Management

We are stewards of this land, honoring its natural existence. The vineyard is biodynamically and organically attended and we are wholly committed to sustainable growing practices. We fervently believe that this produces a superior wine.

Winemaking

By being attuned to the nuances of each block, each clone and each vintage, we are able to create wines that present entirely unique expressions of terroir, even from a single variety, sourced from a single small vineyard.

Crafting the Wine

Lost Corner Icon

We brought together a team of grape growers, viticulturists and winemakers to show the full range of what this very special place can produce. We intentionally sought a collaborative approach, getting the best experience possible to nurture and accentuate what exists naturally in this micro-site to develop unique expressions from the fruit.

Unseen Connections

It’s not just the soil that influences vines, it’s the grass that grows above it, the tiny organisms dwelling within it, the movement of the moon and stars above it. As wine producers, it’s our job to curate what the land provides, making intentional choices based on those myriad influences.

Nuanced Winemaking

Pinot Noir is a remarkably expressive grape. We want to celebrate the nuanced character of each block, each clone and each vintage. By paying close attention to the vineyard, we’re able to craft distinct and vibrant interpretations of this variety, even from within a single growing site.

Artful Stewardship

In the winery, our method is to simply nurture and accentuate what is already there in the fruit. By staying attuned to the nuances of each block and each vintage, we are able to create wines that present unique expressions of terroir, even from a single variety, sourced from a single small vineyard.
